Please Support Us In This Great Cause! Sail into Summer is back for the fifth year! This signature event is held at the Windsor Yacht Club (WYC) with a dinner with wine, entertainment, and a silent auction, all supporting the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation.
This year’s event will help to purchase a state-of-the-art Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System for WRH. The Da Vinci is a Robotic Surgical System that uses a minimally invasive surgical approach. This approach reduces recovery time and increases the number of surgeries performed in our hospital for our community.
You can participate in Sail into Summer 5 by purchasing your ticket on our Eventbrite Website or by phone at 519-985-2656 or by email at wrhfoundation@wrh.on.ca. The event will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 6:00 pm.
Tickets are $150.00 per person, including dinner with wine, entertainment, and a silent auction. This is a very worthy cause and we can all make a difference to accomplish this goal!

First held in 2019, the event raised funds for a new Digital Mammography Machine for Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH). It allowed guests to celebrate the Summer Solstice at the beautiful Windsor Yacht Club and raised over $40,000 for the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation.
Given its success, an event was planned in 2020 but was canceled due to the global pandemic. In 2021 - Sail into Summer - "Home Edition" supported the purchase of an Arietta Ultrasound machine for the Operating Room at the Met Campus in support of the Urology program and in 2022, Sail into Summer supported the purchase of an Endoscopic Ultrasound for Windsor Regional Hospital.
In 2023, funds raised from Sail Into Summer 4, supported the purchase of a new anesthesia machine with "Rainbow" Technology that provides clinical staff with continuous measurements to assess our patients in every operating room and detect adverse conditions much earlier. Thanks to last year’s support, Windsor Regional Hospital is one of the first hospitals in Canada with this technology!
This year, the event proceeds will support ‘State-of-the-art’ surgical equipment. The DaVinci Robot allows for a less invasive and less painful surgery for patients, decreasing their recovery time and lowering the risk of postoperative complications.

Windsor Regional Hospital will make a major investment with purchase of a ‘state of the art” DaVinci Robot.
The DaVinci Robot facilitates surgery using a minimally invasive approach and is controlled by a surgeon from a console. The DaVinci allows for a less invasive and less painful surgery for patients, which in turn decreases their recovery time and lowers the risk of post-operative complications.
This new DaVinci Robot will increase the number of surgeries performed in our hospital, specifically prostate and kidney cancer surgeries, ensuring patients can access care at our hospitals. With this technology, Windsor Regional Hospital will be able to perform over 100 surgeries/year.
