Unique Partnership to Advance Health Research

The new WE-SPARK Health Institute launched today with four local institutions - Windsor Regional Hospital, the University of Windsor, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and St. Clair College - formalizing a partnership that has been a decade in the making.
The collaboration will bring together and elevate health research strengths from across the Windsor-Essex region and beyond to establish research pipelines that address regional health issues, advance innovation and technology, and drive outcomes that support healthier communities.
Lisa Porter, WE-SPARK's Executive Director, says this is a unique partnership that breaks down silos by bringing key institutions together. "WE SPARK is about us all coming together to elevate the health of our community," said Dr. Lisa Porter. "It is about putting our students and our patients at the heart of everything we do. We want everyone to see themselves in what we do here and we want you all to feel pride in what we are going to accomplish together as a region."
Windsor Regional Hospital President and CEO David Musyj says this is a game-changer for research in this region.
"It's time to showcase this work on a broader scale and bring our collective voice to the provincial, national and international stage," he said at the launch.
