Rescheduling Postponed Appointments
1-6-2020
On.Monday,.June 1st, we began the gradual and incremental implementation of a carefully thought out resumption of surgeries and other appointments that had been postponed due to COVID-19.
The restoration of elective and non-urgent surgical and clinical procedures, programs, and clinics was permitted after the government last week officially lifted a directive issued in March that restricted hospital usage to free up bed capacity.
Patients in our community will be notified of opportunities to reschedule surgeries and other appointments and we have encouraged them to not contact the hospital about a postponed appointment. This includes patients who are waiting for surgery, who will hear directly from their physician's/surgeon's office. However, as with the changes to our visitor's policies, we anticipate we will still be contacted by patients and their loved ones with many questions, understandably as many are anxiously waiting for their procedure to take place. We asked them for patience when we postponed their appointments so let's make sure we are patient with the questions they may have!
The notice sent to media and the public, as well as a Frequently Asked Questions section.
