A tip of the hat to everyone who participated in the 2021 Hats on for Healthcare campaign. The Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce the campaign has surpassed its fundraising goal raising more than $50,700 to support the COVID-19 Assistance Fund.

The campaign kicked off March 31, 2021 and ran until April 28, 2021 with a goal of raising $50,000 to purchase Personal Protective Equipment for frontline healthcare workers and hospital equipment such as ventilators and patient monitors.

Due to the pandemic, the campaign took on a virtual approach encouraging people to register online, wear a hat and raise funds and Windsor-Essex residents did not disappoint.

“It has been a challenging year to raise funds,” says Foundation Manager of Philanthropy Cristina Naccarato. “So when we reached and surpassed our goal, we were ecstatic because it reflects the community’s support for the frontline workers at Windsor Regional Hospital.”

More than 30 teams registered collecting a total of 321 donations.

Campaign Co-Chairs Elaine and Harvey Snaden want to thank everyone who participated by having some fun, putting on a hat and collecting donations.

“This campaign has been going on for 12 years and the community has really embraced the concept and look forward to it every spring,” they say.

Since it began, Hats on for Healthcare has raised more than $400,000 for programs and services at Windsor Regional Hospital.

The community’s support for this event reflects the firm belief that “We’re All In This Together.”
