St. Clair College Raises $1.1 Million in Support of New Hospital
27-9-2022
After taking a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the St. Clair College Gourmet Food and Wine Gala came back with a bang!
The 28th annual event raised a whopping $1.1-million in support of a new acute care hospital for Windsor-Essex. This incredible gift represents the proceeds from the event and a generous pledge from the St. Clair College Alumni Association to support the future of its students and healthcare in our region.
"St. Clair College was honoured to launch the community fundraising for the new regional hospital with the proceeds from our Food and Wine Gala," say St. Clair College President Patti France. "In a way, it is a double investment for us: first, as a partner fostering the well-being of the community as a whole; and second, as a means of developing the facility that will employ our Nursing and Health Sciences grads for generations to come."
“There was a level of excitement at this event for the new Windsor-Essex acute care hospital that exceeded anything to date,” says Windsor Regional Hospital President and CEO David Musyj. “This level of energy, plus the fact $1.1-million was raised, truly signals the community’s commitment to this project.”
The gourmet meal recognized the hard work of front line workers with the five course menu featuring dishes in honour of Essex-Windsor EMS, Windsor Fire and Rescue Service and the Windsor Police Service.
The event took place on September 23, 2022 at the St. Clair Centre for the Arts Alumni Skyline Room on Windsor’s waterfront.
