Record Year for Sail into Summer

On June 25, 2022, Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation sailed into summer with a little extra love and funds. Sail into Summer 3 raised an impressive and record-breaking amount of over $50,000 for the purchase of a new Endoscopic Ultrasound Machine.
The EUS Machine is a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment machine which combines a high frequency, ultrasound probe with an endoscope to examine the wall of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, rectum, pancreas, and beyond. It is an integral part of the management of a variety of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. It will allow local residents to receive diagnoses and care in Windsor without the necessity to travel elsewhere.
Many thanks to our fundraising champion, longtime friend, donor and volunteer Carol Parent. For the third year in a row, Carol chaired the event and made it a priority to give back to her community in loving memory of her late husband Vince Morris. Last year, facing all of the challenges with COVID-19 restrictions did not stop her. She switched gears, got creative, and hosted a drive-thru event called Sail into Summer - The Home Edition. Carol has helped raise over $100,000 for the WRH Foundation.
The event was sold-out, guests were welcomed by a live harpist at the Windsor Yacht Club, followed by a delicious dinner and cocktails, along with a sold-out silent auction table full of several generously donated items, a lively and entertaining MC, and the most beautiful view. The sun was shining and the water was sparkling with front row seats to watch the sun set.
Look out for Sail into Summer in 2023. We hope you’ll accompany us in all of the fun. Each year manages to be bigger and better than the previous. This year blew us out of the water!
