The City of Windsor is recognizing each and every staff member at Windsor Regional Hospital for their outstanding service provided to the local community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"All of those health care heroes who came to work every day," says Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. "Talk about intensity. These people had to work, it was relentless with no end in sight, but they kept coming back day after day dealing with the challenges that this pandemic threw in front of them."

Dilkens was on hand at the January 5, 2023 Windsor Regional Hospital Board of Directors meeting to present WRH staff with the award highlighting a number of efforts including the Mass Vaccination Centre at Devonshire Mall and the COVID-19 Field Hospital at St. Clair College.

"I want all the men and women who work at Windsor Regional Hospital to know that their city, that their mayor, that their city council, that their entire community values their contribution and is appreciative of the contribution they made during a very difficult time," explains Dilkens.

"I couldn't be more proud of the staff at Windsor Regional Hospital," says WRH President and CEO David Musyj. "They make me proud on a daily basis. Thank you!"

Dilkens and the City of Windsor have handed out a number of 'COVID Community Champion' awards over the past few months, but Dilkens says he was "saving the best for last."

Congratulations to ALL WRH staff!
