Corvette Club Raises Money for POGO Oncology

A tradition continues with the Corvette Club of Windsor making a donation of $11,000 to the Paediatric Oncology POGO (Paediatric Oncology Group of Ontario) at the Met Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital.

The Corvette Club of Windsor will display vintage vehicles on the courtyard lawn at the Met Campus, many going back several decades, to the present. The first Corvette car came off the assembly line in 1953 and the name, Corvette was taken from a World War II battleship.

The Corvette Club of Windsor - Annual Waterfront Corvette Show was held on June 9th in Dieppe Park. Corvette owners attending the show came from Windsor, Essex County, Michigan and Ohio.

The first Corvette built cost $3,500 in 1953. Today, a Grand Sport Coupe Convertible Corvette is worth over $60,000. Across North America, there are over 800,000 collectible Corvettes registered.

“On behalf of the Corvette Club of Windsor, I am pleased once again to present this donation to support children’s care in the Paediatric Oncology POGO Unit at the Met Campus,” said Bryan Hansen, one of the organizers of the annual event.
