Celebrating Social Workers Leading Positive Change – National Social Work Week!
This year’s theme to celebrate National Social Work Week (March 2-8) holds true across our Organization! Specifically within the Cancer Program, our team of Social Workers have become an integral part of the care team supporting patients AND their family members/caregivers during some of their most vulnerable times in their cancer journey. Innovative approaches have enabled early identification of needs and subsequent interventions for an increased number of patients and families / caregivers, strengthening the overall care experience delivered. From practical services such as access to government assistance programs and transportation arrangements to supporting patients and families/caregivers with coping, anxiety, emotional support and much more, our team of Social Workers are crucial for our patients navigating their unique complex journeys. I couldn’t be more proud of the excellent team we have! The current team boasts a combined experience of over 50 years of excellent social work service delivery!
