National Day of Remembrance
December 6th marks the anniversary of the Ecole Polytechnique massacre in Montreal.
In 1989, a student, Marc Lepine, armed with a semi-automatic weapon shot and killed 14 women and injured ten others in Montreal. Lepine was considered to be an anti-feminist.

Canadians are asked to observe a moment of silence and to wear a white ribbon as a commitment to end violence against women.
