WRH Nurses Honoured at Survivor Day Celebration
28-5-2024
Quite the honour for a pair of Windsor Regional Hospital nurses who went above and beyond the call of duty!
Each year, Essex-Windsor EMS hosts ‘Survivor Day’ to share the stories of survivors and those who helped save their lives.
The 11th annual event featured 27 Survivor Day cases including the story of Jerry Lee who collapsed while playing pool with friends at a Windsor bar in September 2023. Fortunately for Jerry, WRH RNs Naomi Robertson and Chelsea Hebert happened to be at the bar that night and jumped into action. With the help of an off-duty paramedic, Naomi and Chelsea performed CPR until an ambulance arrived while also ensuring an automated external defibrillator was brought over from a nearby business.
Jerry was revived and awake when he was transported to hospital and paramedics attribute Naomi and Chelsea’s quick response and actions to assisting in saving Jerry’s life.
Jerry says he is grateful to everyone involved in keeping him alive to enjoy more time with his family.
Amazing job Naomi and Chelsea!
Thank you to all the amazing paramedics who save countless lives each and every day — we’re proud to be partners on the frontline!
