Local car enthusiasts put the pedal to the metal in 2024, making a large donation to Windsor Regional Hospital.

The Corvette Club of Windsor held their annual Waterfront Car Show this year and raised $34,000 for The Paediatric Oncology Satellite Unit at Metropolitan Campus – its largest donation to date!

“With this year being our 50th anniversary, we wanted to make it very special and we were able to surpass last year’s donation, so we’re extremely happy about that,” says Lynda Reaume, Waterfront Show Coordinator, Corvette Club of Windsor.

The funds will support purchasing specialized equipment, toys and video games for children.

“The donations to our Paediatrics Satellite Oncology Unit not only support medical such as IV pumps for our patients but it also helps provide comfort items to the patient that really helps reduce stress for the patient while they’re in the unit,” says Cristina Naccarato, Executive Director, Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation.

“We’re so thankful for their efforts by raising these funds through their annual car show”.

The Corvette Club of Windsor arranged a drive-by parade, Thursday.

Dozens of Corvettes did laps around the Met Campus to thank frontline staff.

To date, the club has raised $140,000 for Paediatric Oncology at Windsor Regional Hospital.

Paediatric Oncology is an outpatient clinic that sees children up to the age of 18 following their tertiary cancer care.
