After extensive consultation with hospital users - including clinical and non-clinical staff, professional staff, and patient and family representatives - Windsor Regional Hospital, in collaboration with digital healthcare experts at Angus Connect, has established a clear vision and set of goals outlining how technology will be used in the new hospital.

The vision is part of a broader
strategy to enhance patient care in the new hospital with technology. The goals outlined will guide and focus decision-making throughout the design process.
Angus Connect Project Lead Caitlin Campbell says the vision is meant to inspire and keep the team focused on the established priorities throughout the planning process.
“The vision and goals reflect what we heard from the Windsor-Essex Community and represent the direction Windsor Regional Hospital wants to go with the state-of-the-art facility.”
The strategy outlines how the technology will be used and considers existing and emerging technologies, ensuring that the new hospital is equipped to meet the evolving needs of patients, staff, and the broader healthcare system.
Campbell says items like real-time situational awareness will improve patient safety, support faster decision-making, and make it easier to track and manage equipment and resources so the care team can spend more time with patients in the new facility.
In addition, patients can expect to feel more comfortable and connected in smart patient rooms with integrated bedside terminals that can be used to adjust lighting and temperature, speak to members of their care teams, and connect with their loved ones online.
