FAQ's

What is the Summer Student Program?

The Summer Student Program is an initiative that provides eligible students the opportunity to gain meaningful temporary employment and experience working for a large employer. Subject to budget approval and in compliance with the Union Collective Agreements, Windsor Regional Hospital annually hires eligible post-secondary students to work during the summer.

To keep the hiring of students for the Summer Student Program fair and equitable, the selection of students to be considered is based on established qualifications and availability, with successful applicants entered into a lottery for final selection. Therefore, student applicants that have the required qualifications and available schedules will ALL be selected by a lottery system. Past employment with the hospital is not a priority.

The number of students to be hired for the current year is yet to be determined. The HR Department will contact applicants for a telephone screen interview. Those successful in that process will be asked to attend a personal interview. Those successful after the interview process will be selected by a lottery.
