FAQ's

What should I bring to the appointment?

Please bring your health card and a list of your current medications. Some tests require a patient to drink an oral contrast. If you are provided with instructions to pick up a Readi-Cat smoothie please bring this with you to the appointment. Also, please wear comfortable clothing and leave all jewellery at home.

What should I expect during the appointment?

When you arrive in the department please check-in at the reception desk. You will be directed to the appropriate waiting area. If you are scheduled for a test that requires contrast media (x-ray dye) the technologist will discuss this with you and you will be asked to sign a consent form. The technologist will then proceed with starting an IV, you will be brought into the procedure room and positioned appropriately. The technologist will provide you with any instructions for the test.

How long will my appointment last?

The length of the CT scan will vary depending on the exam type. Most exams will take between 5-15 minutes. Please keep in mind that appointments may be delayed due to emergency add on cases.
