OVERVIEW

An x-ray involves the passing of an x-ray beam through a specific part of the body to produce an image. Images are acquired, displayed, and stored electronically. The images are reviewed and interpreted by a specialist in the field known as a Radiologist. A Radiologist is a trained physician who has taken further specialty training in Radiology.

The results are communicated to the physician who ordered the x-ray. X-rays are ordered of many parts of the body and for a wide variety of purposes, for example, hands, feet, knees, toes, spines, chest, and for a large number of more specialized examinations.

All of our "x-ray" technical staff are certified under the Ontario College of Medical Radiation Technologists.
